We are go for Launch!

I am so excited to launch this venture. I have always had a passion for helping others along with public speaking and engagement. I have also been lucky enough to collect decades worth of operational experience out there in industry. Being an already successful trainer, facilitator, coach, mentor and public speaker, it has been kind of a "no-brainer" to turn this all into a business.

My intention is to keep giving away a few little tools via this blog and of course keep everyone updated with forthcoming events and news. Here's one to get us started, along with the video to introduce myself.

Try this, stop using the word BUT.

"But", I hear you say, "that's impossible... there is always a but!"

The word but, immediately puts us in conflict. It's whole purpose is to disagree with something, or more accurately, to create an opportunity to follow up with a different approach. So rather than create the conflict, concentrate on the different approach outcome that we want and simply replace the word BUT with AND.

For example "I hear what your saying, "AND" I would add that..." See how that works? your subject is now listening to what you have to say without feeling rejected.

You will be amazed how many times AND will work better than BUT, try it and see. It will take some conscious work, but just try it and let me know how you get on.
